I no longer work outside the home due to some health issues and with the kids gone, found I had more time on my hands then I even know what to do with. On that note, I remembered how much I loved to write but never had the time to do it and that is how Jamie's Hodgepodge Nest was born.
You'll find "the nest" offers a wide range of musings. After all, I've been around for 46 years and I have a lot to talk about. I'll share with you my life experiences and stories, offering topics on gardening, cooking and baking, parenting, important transitions women go through in life and a whole hodgepodge more.

Hello, my name is Vicki and I'm a wife, mom, teacher and High Priestess. I live with my husband; Charlie in Reno, Nevada. Together we have 4 daughters ranging in age from 21 down to 13. Two of our daughters are enrolled in an online home school program, this is where the title of "teacher" comes in. As a mom we wear so many hats. We also have 2 female cats; Jinxy, a long haired Tortoise Shell & Honey, a short haired Tortoise Shell and my boy aka: Bear, he just turned 1 in August 2011. Bear is Alaskan Malamute and Black Lab Mix.
I love to cook, read and spend time with my family. I spend a lot of my time online and can no longer work outside the home due to Fibromyalgia, Chronic Back Pain, and other health issues. I also enjoying blogging about recipes, home remedies, spirituality and other interesting topics. This is why I'm so excited about sharing The Hodgepodge Nest with 2 great women and moms, I hope you'll stick around and enjoy reading.

I’m Misty married for almost 12 years, with one daughter, a step daughter and 3 step grand kids. I live in Billings, MT and am a stay at home mom. Seems like we are always busy doing something. My daughter Sage just started kindergarten this year (YAY FOR MOM!) and joined 4-H and wants to join girl scouts also. I also donate plasma twice a week to get out of the house and make a little extra money.
We have our own little zoo here. We have Bo our oldest dog to our best guess will be 11 this fall. He’s ½ German shepherd and ½ St. Bernard and at his last vet visit was 130 lbs. He was a rescue dog, brought him home with the intentions of finding him a new home so he didn't end up at the pound. After 10 years he’s still part of the family. He’s our biggest baby. Splash is my husband’s baby. She is now a year old and is a lab. I’m still waiting for the puppy stage to be over! We have 2 leopard geckos Copper and Alfred, and a Tokay gecko named Shinny. We also have 4 rabbits right now Cinderella, Fuzz Ball, Cinnamon, and the baby boy Thumper. And lets not forget Fluffy Lucifer Thompson the kitten who is full of piss and vinegar. Oh and fish!
I like to cook sometimes…. But am working making more freezer meals so less cooking all week long, and getting it all done at once. I am also a coupon clipping, money saving, trying to keep my family frugal woman.
